Section 3:         2700 Cold Spring Road to Grandview Drive/Fox Hill Drive

Tentative Schedule: Ongoing through December 2011

Merryman Excavation completed the Septic Tank Elimination Program (STEP) and force main sewer installation for the entire project area. Temporary pavement has been installed on Grandview Drive from Kessler Boulevard to Juan Solomon Park and will be replaced with final pavement in spring 2011. Final pavement is expected to be complete by June 1. Some construction excavation will occur along Grandview Drive and at the south side of the intersection of Grandview Drive and Kessler Boulevard in May so that repairs to the force main sewer and testing can be completed. Valve installation and repairs to temporary pavement will continue through May.

Grandview Drive is currently closed from 59th Street north to Fox Hill Drive. The contractor also has closed the southern portion of the Grandview Drive and Kessler Boulevard intersection. Visit the project website, www.indy.gov/crookedcreeksewer, for traffic information including traffic maps, details on road closures, lane restrictions and posted detours.

Section 4:        Juan Solomon Park lift station and Coffin Golf Course flow transition building

Tentative Schedule: Ongoing through October 2011

FA Wilhelm Construction Company continues dewatering operations to lower the groundwater level as part of the lift station construction at Juan Solomon Park. The contractor has completed pouring the concrete walls and leak testing at the lift station. Additionally, the contractor has completed forming and pouring the diversion structure walls along with foundation footings and walls along the north and east sides of the lift station. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work is ongoing inside and outside the lift station. The Juan Solomon Park tennis courts are closed, but public parking is available.

Mass excavation for construction of the flow transition building at Coffin Golf Course is complete, and concrete for the base slab, building and stairway walls has been poured. The contractor has completed installation of the 42-inch diameter force main sewer pipe north of the flow transition building and the 48-inch gravity sewer pipe to the south. Also, the contractor installed mechanical equipment inside of the flow transition building and will pour the concrete slab for the maintenance building once the oil/water separator arrives. Lastly, the stone veneer, or decorative building material made to look like natural stone, is being installed at the flow transition building.
