Crooked Creek Area Sewer Improvements Project Update (Belmont North Relief Interceptor) September 10, 2010 CONSTRUCTION UPDATES Section 1: 10th Street/Miley Avenue to 19th Street/Lafayette Road Tentative Schedule: Ongoing through December 2010 New sewer installation and structure construction continues along Lafayette Road between 16th and 19th streets. Lane restrictions are expected to continue until December, with one lane of traffic open in each direction at all times. The new relief sewer is also being installed across from Reverend Mozel Sanders Park . Tunnel shaft construction is underway at the intersection of Miley Avenue and 10th Street . Tunneling under Miley Avenue from Reverend Mozel Sanders Park to 10th Street was completed in September. Tenth Street at Miley Avenue is scheduled to be closed until late October. Section 2: 19th Street/Lafayette Road to 2700 Cold Spring Road Tentative Schedule: Complete Section 2 relief sewer installation is complete. Permanent pavement striping, including bike lanes, was completed along Cold Spring Road in August. Final pavement striping along Lafayette Road north of 19th Street will be included in the Section 1 project pavement restoration, which will be completed in spring 2011. Section 3: 2700 Cold Spring Road to Grandview Drive/Fox Hill Drive Tentative Schedule: Ongoing through December 2011 Merryman Excavation will complete the Septic Tank Elimination Program (STEP) along Knollton Road from 44th Street to 51st Street in early October with clean-up continuing throughout the month. Force main sewer installation along Grandview Drive from 52nd Street north to Kessler Boulevard started at the end of September and will continue through October. Boring under Crooked Creek at Fox Hill Drive started in early October and is expected to be complete by the end of the month. Force main sewer installation from the creek to Juan Solomon Park will start in late October and continue into November. Force main sewer installation along Knollton Road from 44th Street to 51st Street will start in mid-October and continue through November. The paving of North White River Road and Cold Spring Road from 38th Street to 44th Street was completed during the first week of October. Clean up and restoration will take place throughout the month. Roads will be closed to through traffic and residents may have limited access in and out of their driveways at certain times in these construction areas. Section 4: Juan Solomon Park lift station and Coffin Golf Course flow transition building Tentative Schedule: Ongoing through October 2011 FA Wilhelm Construction Company continues dewatering to lower the groundwater level in support of the mass excavation required to construct the lift station. The contractor has completed the excavation and installation of the retaining walls. The contractor also completed pouring the “mud mat” and base slab, which will allow for the lift station walls to be built. The contractor has relocated the picnic shelter onto its new foundation as well. Juan Solomon Park remains open for tennis and field activities with an area for public parking being maintained.
